One of the most interesting attributes of God’s character is grace. II Corinthians 9:8 states that “God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work. “ He affords us so much grace. Unfortunately, because of our flesh, we take this for granted . Grace is essentially unmerited favor-we did not receive it based on merit. This same grace abounding toward us is why we have an abundance of things that enable us to thrive and exceed mere survival.
Water is one of the most abundant elements on earth and accounts for 50 – 70 percent of our body weight. Water composition in the body is very important to achieve and maintain weliness. Water is important for supplying nutrients to some parts of the body and eliminating wastes from others. The body rids itself of the water it does not need. This happens passively via various organs-primarily the kidneys. Unlike getting rid of water, which doesn’t need your input, water consumption absolutely requires action on your part.
In spite of water’s abundance on earth, most of us walk around dehydrated and continue to take for granted the power of free, plenteous water. This affects our ability to fight infections, increases the risk of kidney disease, stroke, heart attack, kidney stones, and gouty arthritis, to name a few. God allows us to have sufficiency in all things including preventing disease from taking root; and by His grace, wellness prevails.
So my brothers and sisters, remember to drink at least one half ounce of water per pound of your body weight each day. For instance, if you weigh 160 pounds, you need 80 ounces, or 5 pints of water daily. May the great grace of God continue to abound toward you. Amen.
